Hi there, just wanted to share my story.. My son was diaganosed with ADHD when he was 4 and I knew something else was there, he would focus really hard on some things and not on others, he would do the hand flapping, this really bothered some of my family, and a few other things. I was finaly able to get him diaganosed with aspergers last May. What a change it has been!!! We have a mobil therapist 4 hours a week to work with him, he gets some extra help at school and gets extra "cool down" time. My husband didnt want to accept it at first, but has done a full turnaround. He now helps out with everything. On the onther hand, my mother in law, we live with her, has come around a bit more slowly. When my son is focused on something and she calls his name, if he dosnt answe right away, she gets upset. She thinks he is ignoring her, somethimse he is!!! She is learning that he is differnt, and is willing to work with us a bit more. I do 99.9% of the caring for both of my boys, but she does help. If I am having a tuff time with one of them, she will take one of them into her room and play a game, read a book, something like that. I am learing to give her credit too!! I guess what I am saying is I feel like I have no support, but as I wright this I see I do have help and support. Thanks for listing to me!!!!

Nancy, thanks for the kind words, sometimes you think you have it hard and tuff, but then someone or something puts it into perspective for you!!
