Some of you may know that when you turn eight , if you have a physical or intellegetical disability that you can participate in the special olympics. Well Ryan is now eight and egilible due to his Autism. Thursday eveing they had sign ups for the summer olympics. The games are Athletics (Track & Field), Bocce, Golf, Gymnastics, Softball. I signed Ryan up for track. Since this is first year they gave me a medical form that I had to fill out and the dr has to fill out. That form is due back on the 20th. Friday was a no school day, so I spent the day calling the dr's office and my insurance place. I got a hold of the receptionsit and they said that all i had to do was fill out a form with what i was requesting and drop off the form and the dr would fill it out. So i went to his dr, showed the front desk. they looked up when he was last seen. He was last seen in Jan but it was for weight issuses. The nurse said he is due for a physical and that they cant fill out the paper work till then. Right now they are only excepting same day appts and i was told to call Monday mourning at 7:30. Today I got on the phone at 7:30 and was on hold till almost 7:45. Ryan has an appt at 10:15 with dr. West. This will be his first time seeing this paticular peditrion. He usually sees the other one. Normaly I dont like seing other ones but I am on a time line to get him into the special olympics. Plus I am not too happy with his current dr so this is a good way for me to see if i like this one better that his current one with out switiching officially. Wished they would of given us a two week span to get the paperwork in to them. oh well. If his dr aproves him he will have his first practice Saturday, April 30th from 9 am to 11pm. Latter on that day sometime in that afternoon he starts his third year of challenger baseball . It is also his youngest sister Zoey's first yr in the challenger program and will hopefully be my first year as an official assistant coach. His coach from last year said i was his non official assistant coach and thought i should apply for either head or assistant coach. Not quite ready for head maybe next year. Both of my kids are suppose to be on my team and Sara who is inegilbe to play gets to be a buddy.
I am curently being seeing by a rhematolist dr and am on curently on Hydroxychloroquine. This paticular medicine can cause eye problems if taken long term, so he wants me to see an othmatoligst before he can continue prescribing me my medicine. Well my insurance no longer covers eye drs unless you are being treated for an exising medical condition. So on Friday I called the main number on my card explained the situation, they gave me the number to who i was suppose to contact. I then called them explained what was going on. They told me that my dr had to put in a refereal reqwest. I then called my dr and explained what my insurace had said. I am now waiting for either approvel letter or a denial letter from my insurance company.
Hopefully will have time to write part two when I get back from taking Ryan to dr
